I got your email from a bunch of forwarded stuff I've been getting from EMSA. Don't know if you know or not but the Downed Bikers Association is also doing a benefit run to help out Mr. Peery. You might be interested in attending and/or forwarding. I have attached a flyer with the info. If you need any other information on it...please let me know. Thanx much  Jeff

Day 4

Wow i wish i didnt get up out of bed this morning. started out decent enough alex woke up at 3 but i was able to get him back to sleep in the living room. and got a litttle more sleep before it was time to get up at 5 had a nice breakfast with my loving wife.

1 slice of cinimmon raisin whole grain toast with tsp of natural peanut butter.

packed smart ones pasta for lunch along with an apple yougart nectarine v8 and water.

25 degrees and drizzle combined for a horrible day accidents all across the city and busy as heck missed snack till 1140 never could take time to make lunch ended up eating a couple of slices of little ceasers pizza that our boss got for us for lunch and by the end of the day i had my v8 apple and nectarine along with 3 bottles of water. not great but still better than my normal used to be. dont have any idea whats for dinner. i am thinking grilled chicken but it may be pretty late by the time i can slide my way home and i dont want the jenn and the kids to wait that long. stay tuned for updates

Day three

Still plugging in there not having any problems with not having soda i am suprised and very glad that the good lord has let this burden be lifted from me.

stil no real physical activity today other than playing with the kids but its all baby steps i took them with me to a union presentation at the academy today and alex helped me pass out paperwork to everybody and he had a blast doing it. Levi did a great job helping me with the babies while i was talking as well.

todays menu was

breakfast

4oz yougart blueberry
4oz milk
1 cup frozen blueberrys
teaspoon spenda
yes you guessed it its smoothie time. this one was much better

2 frozen kashi go lean blueberrry waffles (they suck bland and lifeless)

snack necterane

lunch chedder sausage with bread and little relish

snack handful of pretzles

dinner

well let me start off by saying its valentines day and we didnt go out to olive garden like we always have. that having been said dinner was not really on the plan

small salad with lite ranch dressing (thats good isnt it)

steak and mashed potatoes

strawberry shortcake.

thats not bad really is it??

now did i forget to mention that i cooked the steaks at home on the grill

oh by the way it was larger than the plate it was on.............
and dang it was good. and jenn make s the best mashed taters

still in the grand scheme of things no candy no soda and lots of water.

Day 2

Well i survived day 1 now on to day 2 actually it is not going bad at all i am already approaching this with a different attitude than i ever have. My recent health problems have served as Gods flashlight showing me that if i dont change then bad things may happen.

I still have managed to avoid the soda with no real cravings for it. I think that i have increased our water bill by about half but thats a good thing.

todays menu

2 whole grain blueberry waffles
smoothie with 1 cup milk and 1 cup of frozen blueberrys

skipped snack because i was out with kids at gymnastics

lunch was leftover spagettie and a half a cup of fresh calliflower

snack 1 nectarine (love this things)

dinner

salad and chicken soup

then its off to lifegroup where they will tempt me with choclate cupcakes and crab rangoon both of which i like and both of which i really shouldnt have. it wont be to bad because i dont like iceing and if i eat before going to lifegroup i wont be hungry.

tommorow i plan for all of us to get out and take a walk at the park

Jenn also has been doing great on her diet and i couldnt be prouder of her. keep up the good work sweetie.

Day 1 part 2

I almost forgot i also have managed to not have any soda for 4 days now down from a 12 pack a day to nothing. See being sick for a week was a good thing. it got me over the caffine headache or at least i was so sick i didnt notice it

Day 1

Well today starts the long road back to a healthy mind and body. Too many years have passed and way too much damage has been done. 23 years plus of riding the bus, poor eating habits, stress eating, and a total lack of exercise has left me at 41 years old with failing eyesight, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and at a whopping 276 pounds when I was at the DR. office last Monday. enough is enough I want to be able to see my kids grow old and play with my grandchildren (listen Levi there is no hurry here) ((he is my oldest son just 13 now))

I read an article about a writer that was overweight and she started blogging about her road to weight loss and I thought what the heck some accountably will be nice feel free to stop by and see how my journey is coming along. With prayer, a strong will and a good wife by my side I can accomplish anything.

today’s menu
0600
1 slice cinnamon raisin toast
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
8oz blueberry pomegranate juice (not horrible but I will take some getting used to )

0900
nectarine
yogurt

1200
1 ham and cheese sandwich with tbsp Dijon mustard and ww bread
12 oz can low sodium v8 juice
20 or so small pretzels

1500 1 medium orange

1900 or so

spaghetti
unknown veggie

tomorrow I hope to get a handle on how I am going to work in a work out program with work and family and church I am lucky that we have some workout equipment in the comm. center its just figuring out when and how to use it.

Wish me luck

Raymond
